The innovative aspect of this project lies in its ability to leverage technology to efficiently and effectively manage earthquake relief efforts. The online platform provides a user-friendly interface that streamlines volunteer coordination and provides easy access to information for those affected by the disaster. This project's unique features include its use of JavaScript-based technologies, such as React.js and Node.js, combined with CSS3 and HTML5 for website design and development. The project's testing will involve unit testing, and all stages will be managed with MS Tool. Overall, the project aims to contribute to regional and national development by saving lives and raising awareness about disaster preparedness and response, while also serving as an example for similar projects to be implemented in other countries. The use of technology and collaboration with different stakeholders can make this project a model for future disaster relief efforts.
Benefits and Advantages:
Our project sets itself apart from other similar projects due to several crucial advantages and superior features. One of the biggest advantages our project boasts is the fact that only officials authorized by the institution in power can send notifications through the system. This feature entirely avoids unnecessary and cluttered information on the user interface, leading to a streamlined experience. In other projects, the user interface design is intricate and convoluted, making it challenging to locate necessary features. However, in our project, we have designed a user-friendly interface that assigns a certainty value to each notification, ensuring that no duplicate notifications appear.
Team Contribution:
Our project includes a team of diverse specialists in various fields, including a project manager/tester, systems analyst, programmer, user interface designer, back-end developer, and database developer. Each team member plays an integral part in contributing to the development and maintenance of the project.
The Work Packages:
We have split our project development into three work packages, each with specific goals and objectives.
Work Package 1 - Project Feasibility and Pre-Research:
This package aims to conduct a feasibility analysis of the project's economic, market, technological, and workflow aspects. Some of the activities of this package are analyzing similar products, conducting market research, determining the pertinent areas' needs, and examining national and international projects. This package uses several methodologies to determine the project's legal, technical, and operational feasibility and lists multiple experiments and tests that help identify and mitigate project risks.
Work Package 2 - System Design Technology:
This package focuses on designing the system's architecture, selecting the applicable devices, assessing the system's design, and testing coding languages. The package's crucial output is the initial prototype of the software, which demonstrates the system's functionality and helps identify the system's design's flaws and future requirements.
Work Package 3 - Development of System Software:
This package aims to create the system's software, such as the database implementation, user interface design, algorithm modeling, web service database connection, and testing. This package is integral in bringing the project to life as it turns the initial prototype into a fully functional system.
Relation between the Work Packages:
The output of Work Package 1 allows Work Package 2 to design the system with a clear understanding of the project's feasibility and requirements. The output of Work Package 2, i.e., the initial prototype, helps Work Package 3 create the system's software according to the system's design and architecture guidelines. Thus, all three work packages are interdependent and contribute to bringing the project to fruition.
Task: Rewrite the entire text in better words and make it unique with natural language.
Functional and UI Testing
Functional and UI testing are essential components of the development process. Functional testing ensures that each component of the system performs as expected and meets the requirements. UI testing, on the other hand, focuses on ensuring that the user interface is user-friendly and visually pleasing.
Output of work package and success criteria
The output of the work package includes a working database and a useful UI. Success criteria for this work package include a low error rate in coding and effective database design and implementation.
Relation of output with other work packages
The success of a project heavily relies on its testing and maintenance stages. Although developers may try their best to eliminate all potential issues, it is crucial to have a separate tester with specialized skills to ensure that the application works as intended. Testing should start shortly after the first unit of the application has been developed, and necessary corrections and improvements should be made. The output of this work package is closely related to other work packages, including the economic forecasts and national outcomes.
Work package activities
The activities in this work package include interface testing, database testing, correcting and improving any mistakes, and project closure.
Methods and Parameters
Database testing and interface testing by all team members are the methods and parameters used in this work package. User experience measurement is also taken into account.
Experiments, Tests, and Analysis
Unit testing is done, and any identified mistakes should be fixed. The unit test is the most crucial test for the project release phase.
Economic Forecasts
To evaluate the commercialization potential of project outcomes, it is crucial to assess numerous risks, including technical, market, intellectual property, financial, regulatory, team, market timing, reputational, operational, and competitive risks. It is essential to increase the likelihood of successful commercialization and reduce potential barriers with a proper assessment of these risks.
Expectations to the Team
The team's expectations include achieving a month-long time-to-market, an increase in sales revenue, an increase in market share, and a time to start gaining dividends.
National Outcomes
The earthquake relief system has the potential to facilitate access to emergency services, medical supplies, and aid organizations. It can potentially save lives and reduce the overall impact of earthquakes.
Patent, Utility Model, and Industrial Design Registration
Outputs subject to patent, utility model, and industrial design registration include any unique and innovative solutions the team may have developed in the project.
Effects of Project Outputs on Society and Environment
Although the earthquake relief system has the potential to save lives and reduce the impact of earthquakes, false reports to the system can lead to an increase in the number of reports, causing search and rescue operations to be significantly disrupted. It is important to monitor and address any adverse effects the project may have on the society, environment, and human beings.
