Authentic learning enables teachers to bridge the gap between class and the outside world. It affords students the opportunity to connect their learning to real-life experiences, thereby making their knowledge and subsequently their skills more sustainable and significant.

With regards to the application of authentic learning in science classes, Naciye Aynas and Mecit Aslan investigated its effects on the problem-solving skills and attitudes of 92 sixth-grade students in Van, Turkey during the 2017-2018 academic year. The study revealed that authentic learning had a positive influence on the affective domains of the students, leading to a more positive attitude towards their courses. Additionally, students who were trained using authentic learning exhibited better performance compared to their counterparts who undertook the standard program.

Similarly, in another study, Ramazan YILDIRIM and Şaban ORTAK sought to investigate the impact of authentic learning in social studies classes. They found that the academic achievement levels of students who were trained using authentic learning increased significantly compared to the control group. Moreover, the students in the authentic learning group showed a significant improvement in their attitudes towards the course, while there was no difference in the control group's attitudes. For instance, these tasks may be more challenging, leading to frustration and decreased motivation, and may take more time to complete. Despite these, authentic learning remains an invaluable and effective approach that fosters meaningful connections between learning and real-world experiences.
