Education plays a vital role in shaping one's thought process and decision making skills. Teachers, being the backbone of the educational system, have a significant impact on the development of their students. This essay aims to discuss how teacher's decision making affects their teaching style.
Critical thinking is a valuable tool that enables individuals to think clearly and rationally. It helps in improving their ability to formulate and construct arguments. In the modern era, the educational system requires more than just learning a list of facts. Building a strong student-teacher relationship is crucial for a successful career. As an educator, I have developed my critical thinking skills and patience over time. For instance, after assembly, I noticed various students with different personalities. Some were active, while some were passive, and others were reluctant to speak English. However, instead of getting frustrated or annoyed, I took a step back and questioned their mother tongue. This allowed me to approach them with a more straightforward approach and communicate effectively with all my students.
Teachers function not only as a mere source of knowledge but also as role models and influencers for their students. Therefore, they have to be mindful of their actions and decisions. During one of my classes, I observed that some students had family issues that affected their learning. As an educator, it is important to offer support and care for every child. Every student has unique needs and perspectives; therefore, as a teacher, I tried to personalize the learning experience for each one of them. Dividing the class into smaller groups helped in creating a more inclusive environment, where the brighter students could help the slower ones, and everyone could share their thoughts and ideas.
Effective teaching involves giving students enough time to think critically and develop their responses. Teachers use this method to encourage students to think casually and improve their critical thinking skills, which would be helpful in their future professions. Asking questions in class and giving students enough time to answer helps unlock their creativity and ideas during brainstorming sessions.
Finally, the pandemic has presented significant challenges for teachers in motivating and engaging their students. Teachers have to communicate with parents via email or phone calls to provide necessary resources to their students. As an educator, I try my best to create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment for every child. It is essential to exercise patience and compassion towards students who are struggling and support them in their journey towards success.
In conclusion, a teacher's decision making plays a critical role in their teaching style. By developing critical thinking skills, building strong relationships with students, and personalizing the learning experience, teachers can create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that would help students succeed not only in their academic but also in their personal and professional lives.
In conclusion, teachers serve as the cornerstone of education as they have the power to shape the young minds of the next generation. Their role extends beyond imparting knowledge and includes providing support during tough times, particularly when students are facing challenges at home. Teachers play an important role in lending an ear and devising solutions that can help children overcome their difficulties.
