Since I was young, I have had an inherent ability to understand the intricacies of numbers and figures. I recognize that controlling finances is vital to a company's success, making accounting and finance integral elements. It is my ultimate goal to become a globally recognized Chartered Accountant, as I believe that mastering accounting can help me better comprehend the business world.

At the age of twenty-one, I made the decision to study abroad, influenced by co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma's, words, "Once in your life, try something, work hard at something. Try to change. Nothing bad can happen."

My undergraduate degree program, including critical thinking, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, writing skills, and IT skills, prepared me from various perspectives. Accounting studies enhanced my knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards, cost management accounting, micro and macro-economics, business and corporate law, and other accounting related and non-related subjects.

With my four-month industrial training experience in an audit firm, I gained valuable insights into the accounting world, providing me hands-on training to become a professional accounting personnel. I was responsible for vouching and tracing the transactions of related sales and purchases of a company, which honed my detail-oriented skills, which I think is essential as an auditor and accountant.

Furthermore, my involvement as a class representative for my diploma program and as a librarian in my secondary school showcases my leadership and problem-solving skills. As the event leader in the Chinese Language Society during my secondary school life, I organized various events that developed my communication skills and teamwork abilities.

As Malaysia is a multicultural society, I had the opportunity to learn multiple languages, such as English and Malay languages, plus fluency in other languages and dialects like Chinese and Hokkien. I chose to learn French as my elective subject as understanding different cultures and languages are crucial in today's global environment.

Given that the world is increasingly moving towards a more globalized environment, my choice to further my education in the UK is prompted by its diverse population and rich culture, coupled with its status as a dominant economic powerhouse. Newcastle University's MSc Accounting, Finance and Strategic Investment course is my preferred option as it complements my skillset and interests, and the university is one of the global top 150 universities, with an established reputation for accounting and finance courses.

Upon graduation, I plan to work for an audit company to gain more practical experience and become a member of ACCA. I firmly believe that studying at Newcastle University will provide me with the necessary tools to deepen my knowledge and accelerate my future career prospects.
